Loose Car Hampers
Raines’ Effort

BROOKLYN, MICH. – Tony Raines finished 31st in Sunday’s 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Raceway.

Raines started 30th in his No. 70 Haas Automation Chevrolet and reported early that it lacked rear grip in the corners. The loose handling condition caused Raines to fall further back in the field, as low as 42nd, before his teams adjustments made the car handle better.

“We were very loose at the beginning of the race -- wrecking loose,” Raines said. “We were able to find a good balance about half way through the race, unfortunately by that time we didn’t have any track position to work with.”

Raines will be behind the wheel of the No. 70 again this week as the team heads to Bristol Motor Speedway.
